- Prepare 3/4 cup of butter flavored Crisco.
- It's 1 cup of sugar, + some for rolling.
- It's 1 of egg, large.
- You need 1/4 cup of molasses.
- You need 2 cup of flour.
- You need 2 tsp of baking soda.
- It's 1 tsp of cinnamon.
- Prepare 1 tsp of ground ginger.
- It's 1/2 tsp of ground cloves.

Ginger Spice Cookies step by step
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- Sift or wisk all dry ingredients together: flour, baking soda & spices.
- In large bowel with electric mixer, combine shortening and sugar, blending until creamy (about 2 mins).
- Add egg & molasses until completely incorporated.
- Slowly mix in dry ingredients with a spoon/spatula.
- Roll into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar.
- Place on cookie sheet, bake 8-10 minutes or until just set around edges and you see crackling on top (they will puff then flatten); don't overbake, they should stay chewy in the middle.
